A vintage upgrade

I'm still away from The House of Goodwill until next week, and I'm really looking forward to heading back and starting work again.

We went to see the house for the first time last March; it was a beautiful spring day and there were azaleas all around the house in bloom, columbine as well.  The irises and peonies followed shortly after.  I am looking forward to being able to enjoy this season at the house this year - now that it's ours.  I always think spring is my favorite season, until fall rolls around and I decide that it's my favorite.

Anyway, remember this great light fixture I saw at the antique mall last week?  I loved it:

I thought I would share a "vintage upgrade" I did with a similar one in my house.

Here's the builder grade light fixture that was in the hallway of our house when we bought it:

Well, it worked.

I found this one posted on craigslist for $20.  It was the same brassy/gold color as the one at the antique mall, and I was debating between painting it white or black.  I always love the elegance of black.

I really liked how it came out.  I just love anything covered in crystals, even if they aren't real glass.  I still think they're beautiful.

If I could just think of a place for the other one...🤔
