Since we bought the house, so far I have managed to paint
the master bedroom, living room and a second bedroom.
As the rooms get completed paint-wise, I’ve started moving
some furniture in to see what I have and what I still need.
Here’s a little progress report that doesn’t involve paint:
I didn’t originally plan to change the curtains in the
master bedroom, as they were really pretty with a nice silver pattern.
But once I painted the walls a very soft lilac, and painted
the molding white, the curtain color just looked kind of washed out. Since my husband was requesting - very
strongly requesting - blackout curtains, it gave me an excuse to order some new
ones. I found some I really liked on
Amazon for $64 - not cheap, but cheaper than most, and blackout curtains with
the colors I wanted were not something I was going to run into at Goodwill.
I love how they look on the wall! They are only missing the green in my color
palette. (And they block almost all the
early morning light!)
We picked up this armoire at a secondhand furniture store
for $200:
The gray color is picked up nicely in the curtains.
I haven’t been able to work on the furniture acquisition
much lately because I’ve been too busy painting. Plus, my best thrifting resources are back at
the home/house.
I really need to get myself to a thrift store. I’m starting to show some withdrawal
symptoms.
But at least there’s been a little progress.
Baby steps.
